Her mother’s drinking problem is a constant concern. Her best (and only) friend is pulling away. If you liked The Love Hypothesis you will love Not My problem.Aideen has plenty of problems she can’t fix. Overall I fell in love with this book and definitely recommend to anyone looking for the perfect summer time read. The characters all had a significant development and I was happy to see how their relationships formed over the course of the book. The ending was perfect, Ciara Smyth blew me away again and I can’t wait to see what she writes next. I absolutely adore a witty narrator and Aideen went above and beyond for me. I fell in love with Ciara Smyth’s writing style whilst reading The Falling In Love Montage and this book exceeded everything I loved about it. These issues were dealt candidly but with grace and I wish more books would talk about these topics so openly. Not My Problem explores important issues like alcoholism and the pressure put on students to be perfect which add a more serious element to the story and help creat the backbone of characters motivation. They’re an unlikely group but their friendship felt so natural and candid. I also really loved band of misfits that come together in the end after they’ve all worked with Aideen. I really enjoyed the dynamic of the trio and would love to see more of them in the future.

Kavi is a chatty and hilarious side character who can’t do enough for anyone.

I’m also glad it wasn’t rushed like many enemies to lovers – instead playing out organically and realistically. I loved see how Aideen and Maebh developed through their feelings, creating the perfect moments to squeal too. The romance is enemies to lovers – which if you know me know will always be one of my favourite tropes. I really enjoyed seeing how the tasks played out and ended up intertwining as they helped each other out with their problems in return for help of their own. Aideen realises she has a talent for fixing student problems and vows to help them while trying to ignore that her own life falling apart. Not my problem by Ciara Smyth is a saphic ya contemporary following rule breaker Aideen after she reluctantly offers to help Maebh escape her crazy work load by pushing her down the stairs. My thoughts are all my own and are in no way influenced by this. *DISCLAIMER* I received a copy in exchange for an honest review from the publisher and Pride Book Tours as part of their tour.
